MBBS in China Q&AMenu

How many years is MBBS in China?

Under China's Ministry of Education 2007 standard for English-taught undergraduate medical education, the course length is six years (Article 5), including a graduation internship of one academic year (not less than 48 weeks) under Article 13(3). Separately, India's National Medical Commission (India) requires a minimum course duration of 54 months and a 12-month internship in the same foreign institution (regulation 4(a)(i) and (ii)), with the total course completed within ten years of joining (Schedule I, paragraph 2(iv)). Pakistan's Medical & Dental Council requires at least 6,200 hours with a minimum of 80% attendance over five years (Notification No. 1-C/Council/2024/515 dated 29 July 2024). The English rendering of the Chinese Ministry of Education standard is this site's translation. See the course and internship section for more details.
